Before you depart on either an escorted tour or an independent trip Dialysis Abroad will be in contact with your dialysis unit to obtain all your dialysis information. We then forward onto the relevant medical team(s) that will be providing your dialysis treatment while travelling overseas.
At Dialysis Abroad we are very discerning about which dialysis unit we use while travelling. Mostly we use private dialysis units.
When on a cruise there is a dedicated dialysis unit onboard where dialysis will take place. Sometimes the dialysis unit will be in the ship’s hospital and on some occasions there are dedicated cabins that have been transformed into a dialysis unit. The medical team is made up of a qualified Nephrologist and nurses. The medical team is onboard for the duration of your trip.
When dialysing overseas, in some cases, the dialysis machine used and the methodology can be different to what you are use to at home. Be rest assured you will receive the same quality of treatment as if at home.
